Food and Lodging
Where will I stay during PWI?
Housing is provided by Proskuneo Ministries either with host homes or in a church/dormitory. Host families are Christian families who either attend one of our supporting churches or who volunteer with Proskuneo Ministries. If we choose a dormitory or church setting, we will have interns and/or staff who will be responsible for oversight of the students.
What will I eat during PWI?
During PWI, your lunch and dinner are provided Monday–Friday. Host families usually provide some sort of breakfast food, at their discretion. If you have a concern about food (for dietary reasons or otherwise), please indicate that on your Housing Information Form which you will receive upon acceptance.
Where is PWI happening?
PWI will take place in Clarkston, GA just outside of Atlanta. We will have a host site where we meet for all of our training.
Transportation in Clarkston
How will I get to PWI each day if I don’t have a car?
Students without their own car are housed with students or interns who do have a car and are willing to share! The carpool experience is one of the highlights of PWI!
Transportation to and from the airport
I am from out of town, which airport do I fly into for PWI? Who will pick me up at the airport? When do I need to fly in and out?
All flight arrangements can be made into Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Int’l Airport (ATL). Please make flights per guidelines below. Send your travel information to email@example.com and a member of our PWI staff will coordinate your airport shuttle with one of our volunteers or interns
Dates for travel:
Arrive: Sunday-June 18
Please try to make arrangements to arrive in the late afternoon or evening so our volunteers can attend church in the morning.
Depart: Saturday-June 24
PWI runs through noon on Saturday so please book flights for the late afternoon or evening.
Early arrivals and late departures MUST be approved by the Proskuneo director prior to making flight arrangements.
What is the Practicum?
For our practicum we will be traveling to the Dominican Republic! We will be hosting a mini-PWI for students in that region. If you mark on the PWI application that you are interested in participating in Practicum, we will send you a separate application for that week. There is a separate acceptance process for the Practicum week. You are required to have attended at least one PWI. Click on the Practicum tab above for more information.
What if English is not my first language?
We encourage all students, of all backgrounds and languages, to participate in PWI. Many or our PWI students do not have English as their first language. If you have a concern about language, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be happy to talk to you about it!
I sent my application; what happens next?
Once you have submitted your application and the $75 application fee, you will receive an email confirmation. This should arrive within 7 business days after our receipt of payment.
Next, your PWI application will be reviewed and processed by a member of our PWI staff.
If you are a new student, you will receive a phone call from our director or one of our staff volunteers to do a phone interview.
After the phone interview a decision will be made and you will receive another email notification.
Our registrar will then send you a list of documents which are needed, along with the deadlines for their submission. You can also find a list of items needed at the top of this website under the I’ve Applied — What’s Next? tab.
If you have submitted your application and haven’t heard back within in a week or so, email email@example.com and let us know!
If I have more questions, who can I talk to?
Any other questions you have can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re happy to help you any way we can!
Once you have been accepted you will have contact information for our Registrar who will be more than glad to get the answers to your questions.
