Who can apply for Practicum 2017?
Any student who is planning to attend PWI 2017 for at least one week is eligible to apply for Practicum. We will take a team of approximately 10 people so get your application in early.
What will be we be doing for Practicum 2017?
This will be our third year to lead Proskuneo Instituto de Adoración (PWI) for one week in the Dominican Republic. God is moving among the students there and we are excited to be going back. We will accept approximately 30 applications from students in the Dominican Republic, ages 16 – 30, for this unique worship intensive.
Practicum 2017 will be in the Dominican Republic. We are currently making arrangements for our exact location.
When is Practicum 2017?
Practicum 2017 will follow PWI 2017. We will have two training/preparation days on Thursday, July 13 and Friday, July 14. We plan to fly from Atlanta to the DR on Saturday, July 15 with a return flight on Sunday, July 23.
The total cost of the trip is approximately $1,100.00. This includes airfare to/from the DR, a Dominican Republic tourist card, transportation on the ground in the DR, lodging and meals. (Price may vary slightly based on current airfares at the time of booking.)
You will need to have a valid passport. If you do not currently hold a passport, the process takes around 4 – 8 weeks and costs around $150.00 including photos.
You will be responsible for turning in your documents and money by the deadlines listed below. Proskuneo Ministries will make all travel arrangements so that the team will travel together from Atlanta, GA.
Deadline 1: March 1st — Tell us you are interested in traveling with us by applying for PWI and indicating that you are interested in the practicum week on your application form. Once you apply for PWI you will receive an application for Practicum. Please return your Practicum application to us as quickly as possible after receipt.
Deadline 2: April 1st — Final deadline for practicum applications and the $100 deposit. If you are not accepted for the practicum, your deposit will be returned to you. If you are accepted, it is non-refundable but will be deducted from the total cost of the Practicum.
Deadline 3: May 1st — A minimum payment of $900 (or total cost of airline tickets if different at the time we purchases) will be due. If you have not paid the $100 deposit, this needs to be turned in as well. You must also submit a copy of your passport at this time.
Deadline 4: June 1st — The final payment for practicum must be turned in by this date.
