If you would like to get involved this summer, PLEASE send an email to Becky as soon as possible. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Here are just a few of the ways you could volunteer your time and talents:
We need someone who can start processing registrations as they come in. You would not have to live in the Atlanta area to do this. Everything can be done digitally. If you are organized and have some time you could donate to this, we would love to hear from you. The work for this could start as early as January and will end when all documents are in for PWI 2018. The workload is a little heavier toward the beginning of PWI but should take no more than eight hours of time each week.
This one is easier if you live nearby and know some people! Basically, we need you to connect with people who might be willing to host interns and students. Communicating expectations and rules to students while also keeping clear contact with the host homes from the time they say yes to the end of PWI. We can give you a “starter” list and you can take it from there!
If you live within 10 miles of Clarkston and if you have a spare bed or two, we need you! We usually have to host our students as they come from long distances. This is a great service to provide. You are not responsible for meals or transportation – just a welcoming space and a place to lay their heads and shower. Students are only in the home from around 10:30 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. and on the weekend. Our interns also need housing and this is needed from before PWI to a few days after PWI.
If you can provide one meal, that would be awesome. If you like to cook a food from your culture, we love to try new things! OR if you would like to come and spend the summer with us, we would love to have our very own cook on site! If you are willing to prepare two meals a day for one or two weeks, we would even let you join us for worship times to refresh your soul!
If you don’t like to cook but love food, you are in good company! These students LOVE to eat! If you would like to provide a meal for our student body, it would be greatly welcomed! It could be pizza for set up night, catering from Moe’s, or whatever you would like to provide. We would even love to have you come and eat with us! If you bring it, they will eat it!
Drive to and from the airport!
Our students and interns come from all over the country and sometimes out of the country. We need to be able to have transportation to and from Hartsfield Jackson Airport just before and just after PWI. (Most will travel on July 8 and July 21.)
Loan A Car To An Intern:
We need to have transportation for our students during PWI so if you have a vehicle that you could spare for a couple of weeks, we would have an intern drive it to pick up students each day. It doesn’t have to be fancy as long as it runs!
One of the most vital roles for supporting PWI is prayer warrior. If you love to pray, this is the team for you! And if you are a good communicator and organizer, we need someone to coordinate this team and give them updates.
Because I didn’t know what else to call it!
Each year we give our volunteers a little gift. If you are creative and like to do fun projects, this could be a fun task. You can work together with the director and assistant director to come up with a lovely little thank you that fits our theme or that would just bless our volunteers. We have a small budget for supplies if you are willing to make the gifts!
Remember, all you have to do is email Becky at email@example.com and she will contact you!
